Hi, I'm Chris Godby - I run New Chapter from a quaint little village in Hampshire, England. I've co-owned a design agency and was Design Lead on all kinds of projects across a wide variety of sectors. My daughter (above) was born and I turned 30, so why not add another challenge to life? New Chapter is my UI design consultancy aimed at delivering great value to digital product owners. I use minimalist design to simplify user interfaces.

Over the years, I've enjoyed working on projects for brands like NiDecker, GSK, RSPCA, Endemol and GfK.  I'm lucky enough to have had my work featured on Awwwards, Abduzeedo, CSSDA, TechCrunch, BBC, Channel 4 and more besides.

I give back

When possible, I like to use my design skills for good. I've partnered with great charitable organisations like: RSPCA, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Portsmouth Autism Support Network, VRA and ESRA. Get in touch if you'd like to learn more.

My approach

I promise to:

  • Find the simplest, most logical design solution even if it's the most boring solution
  • Design for your audience, not you or I
  • Tell you if I can't offer any meaningful value
  • Offer strategic advice based on my own experience when appropriate
  • Work with good humour

I promise not to:

  • Follow trends that will leave you looking dated in no time
  • Design fussy, complex solutions
  • Be a yes man
